It is almost time to say goodbye... I will be leaving for Thailand in less than 1 month! This year FLEW by, yet at the same time it seems like Berlin was a lifetime ago. I am excited to see what is in store for me next year... most definitely- a drastic change.
I received word a week or so ago that my Visa had been accepted and I my travel agent sent me my travel documents. My itinerary is as follows:
Tuesday, August 9th
Depart: Madison, USA (9:10AM)
Arrive: Chicago, USA (10:00AM)
Depart: Chicago, USA (12:35PM)
Arrive: Seoul, South Korea (August 10th - 3:55PM)
Wednesday, August 10th
Depart: Seoul, South Korea (6:40PM)
Arrive: Bangkok, Thailand (10:10PM)
Thursday August 11th
Depart: Bangkok, Thailand (6:15AM)
Arrive: Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand (7:20AM)
It will be quite strenuous (i hate flying) but well worth it I am sure.
This past weekend was the final rotary conference before all of the outbounds head off on exchange. It was the third time that I had been to this conference, therefore, it felt a bit repetitive, but it was a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world.
Before I leave I will be working intensively, going on vacation with my family, and enjoying the mid-western summertime. The future is bright.
Hi Ben! I found your blog through Google. My daughter is going to Thailand through Rotary for the 11-12 school year, which is also her gap year. She flies out August 12th from Minneapolis (we live in the Twin Cities). SO excited to see that someone else is going, as there are no other exchange students from our district going to Thailand.
